We are in our last days of Autumn and the
mornings are telling us that winter is
NEAR. Not yet, 11 days. Now the weather is just perfect, a couple of days ago it was 20 degrees.
I love it.
It took some time to get our web page on line, but with us oldies we live in the world of the tortoise, so you youngies hold fire, we do get there…..
So now it’s up to me to keep you up to date with
what’s happening at the gardens, so I hope I can keep up with the pace. One day we’ll get someone to do
‘Facebook’ for us and then we’ll really be in the land of the living in the 20th century.
So the gardens are quiet and beautiful:
What do you think we are going to do with all those leaves in the above photo. We are going to turn them into what gardeners call 'black gold'. It will be the best seed raising mix you can get and compost for our gardens. We had the local street sweepers deliver is a few truck loads this morning and I thought I was going to have to get raking.
The other picture is our willow shade area that is a big pruning job for autumn
We are planted up for the winter and now maintaining things and still tidying up from the storm.
New
signs are being painted by our volunteer Judy and Ken is going to be putting them up soon. I’ll get a pic when complete.
The ‘water tank’ is in and trenches are being laid, the pipes are being dug so we will have all finished by end of June.
That will be a great asset to have. More on that later.
